As of my previous post, you have read that I am part Eskimo. Some find that term offensing in some ways. I don't. I wear it like a president wears a tie (kind of). I am Inupiaq and we are located in the northern part of Alaska, our region being the coldest due to the fact it resides somewhat in the Arctic Circle. I have never been there personally, but my mom was born in Kotzebue, Alaska. I don't know where Ahna (Inupiaq word for Grandma) was born, or it just slipped my mind. I don't look Eskimo at all, I got more of my dad's features. I have complained that at one point, I wanted to look Eskimo, but that would not have matched the western theme. Gotta love those horses.
As I said, I got a majority of my dad's features: The brown hair (I was born dirty blond), the somewhat narrow face, the hazel-ish eye color (I deny that, because they are mainly brown. Sometimes they swap colors. hmm.) and the dimples (I got them from mom AND dad). My dad is Irish and British, and my dad has a relative that researched our last name of Morden, and I'm not proud to bear this Morden History. We are descended from King Henry the 2nd of England. Why am I not proud to bear it? Because of what King Henry the second did. He called himself Catholic, but killed off people who did not agree with his belief. He was not a very nice man.
The Morden name goes farther back, my ancestors were vikings! Or, as dad put it, we were practically vikings before it was even cool to be vikings. I laugh at that one, because vikings were very stubborn and ambitous, I think I got those characteristics. I am rebelious sometimes, ambitous often, and stubborn when I want to be. Anyone who bears the Morden name is related in some way.
Looks like you need to cut on your spam filer, huh? You'll get some crazy comments, either way.
ReplyDeleteThis family history post is very interesting. You SHOULD wear your heritage "like a president wears a tie". Very cool analogy.
Thanks. =) I should. =)
